Nurturing young basketball talent from underprivileged backgrounds across Kenya — empowering youth through sport, mentorship, and academic opportunities.
Junior Ballers 254 is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Kenya dedicated to fostering youth development through sports, particularly basketball. Founded by Yvonne Mwende — affectionately known as Coach Ivy — JB254 aims to provide young athletes with opportunities to showcase their talents, secure academic scholarships, and develop holistically.
The name Junior Ballers reflects the vibrancy and energy of youth basketball, with a clear focus on young athletes from underprivileged backgrounds who deserve the chance to compete, grow, and shine.

Junior Ballers 254 is one of the most impactful youth basketball initiatives in Kenya today. The structure, vision, and consistency is remarkable — and I've seen first-hand how it opens doors for young athletes who never thought basketball could be their path to a scholarship or a better future. This deserves every bit of recognition and support it gets.
Junior Ballers 254 gave my child not just a stage to play, but confidence, discipline, and a community of like-minded peers. Coach Ivy is truly passionate about these kids — you can feel it in every tournament she puts together.
What JB254 is doing for youth basketball in Kenya is real and tangible. The coaching and reffing clinics alone speak volumes — they're investing not just in the kids but in the entire ecosystem. As a coach, being part of that is something I'm proud of.
Junior Ballers 254 is not just about the kids on the court. We believe that a thriving basketball ecosystem requires empowered coaches and qualified referees at every level. That's why we run dedicated Coaching & Reffing Clinics that invest in the people who shape the game.
To date, we have impacted 40 coaches and referees — equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and community to raise the standard of basketball across Kenya. These are young adults whose lives, just like the players', are being transformed through basketball.
"The vision of JB254 goes beyond any single tournament. We are building a generation — not just of players, but of coaches, referees, and leaders who will carry this game forward and inspire the next wave of Kenyan basketball."
